Our team is employed by River Park Apartments and professionally managed and supported by Ogden & Company. Ownership is highly committed to maintaining and investing in the property so residents have a safe, comfortable, attractive, and welcoming place to call home.
We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician who enjoys working with their hands, takes pride in solving problems, and understands that quality maintenance makes a meaningful difference in residents' everyday lives.
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for helping maintain the physical integrity, safety, and overall appearance of River Park Apartments. This position completes service requests, preventative maintenance, unit turns, repairs, and routine property upkeep efficiently and professionally.
Key Responsibilities
· Complete resident service requests in a timely, professional, and respectful manner.
· Diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
· Perform minor electrical and plumbing repairs, as well as carpentry, drywall, and painting.
· Assist with appliance repairs and other general building maintenance.
· Perform unit turns, including inspections, repairs, painting, and coordination of cleaning as needed.
· Complete scheduled preventative maintenance and routine inspections of building systems.
· Maintain common areas, amenities, exterior areas, and grounds.
· Identify and report safety hazards, building deficiencies, or conditions requiring additional attention.
· Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and related documentation.
· Communicate clearly with residents regarding maintenance needs, timelines, and expectations.
· Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours emergencies, including shared coverage with a sister property located in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
· Respond promptly to urgent maintenance concerns such as water leaks, power issues, and other safety-related situations.
· Perform work in accordance with applicable safety standards, company policies, and Fair Housing requirements.
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Valid driver's license.
· Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
· Hands-on maintenance experience is required; two or more years of maintenance experience is preferred.
· Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, appliance repair, and general building maintenance.
· Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
· Professional communication and customer service skills.
· No specific trade certifications are required.
Physical Requirements
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
· Frequent walking, bending, reaching, and climbing stairs or ladders.
· Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Schedule
Full-time position with a rotating on-call schedule. Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and emergency situations is required as part of the on-call rotation.
