Mural Group is partnering with a leading industrial manufacturer in Charlotte to hire a direct-placed maintenance leader. You will step in right beneath a 30-year maintenance veteran who knows every machine and is ready to pass that knowledge on. The maintenance team has been running lean—this role adds the depth they’ve been missing. You’ll back up the Maintenance Manager day to day, take the helm when he’s away, and become the backbone of a program that needs a steady hand. Earn the crew’s trust, and you’ll be the person they can’t do without.

A Day in the Life

This is real, heavy industrial work in a non-climate-controlled but well-ventilated plant. Expect warm conditions, real machines, and real breakdowns. The standard week is Monday–Friday, with Fridays dedicated to preventive maintenance. Sixty-hour weeks happen. Saturday PM days happen. If you’re looking for a comfortable 40-hour week, this isn’t it. If you want to do serious maintenance and be well compensated, you’re in the right place.

What You’ll Own

• Keep industrial production machinery and pipeline distribution systems running through hands-on repair and troubleshooting
• Run, refine, and take full accountability for the preventive maintenance schedule
• Respond fast to equipment failures and drive independent root-cause diagnosis
• Work inside electrical panels: trace faults, replace components, and safely troubleshoot at 480V
• Execute welding and fabrication repairs when needed
• Serve as the Maintenance Manager’s right hand and step into point leadership during absences
• Help develop maintenance helpers as the team scales
• Uphold safety protocols and keep work areas clean and organized

What You Bring

• Proven industrial manufacturing maintenance experience (heavy production equipment; not facilities or HVAC)
• Practical welding and fabrication skills
• Comfort troubleshooting electrical panels at 480V (medium voltage required; high voltage is a plus)
• Hands-on pneumatics troubleshooting
• Ability to diagnose unfamiliar equipment without hand-holding
• A work ethic that stays until the issue is solved

What You Don’t Need

You don’t need prior exposure to this plant’s specific machines—the Maintenance Manager will train you. What can’t be taught here is your foundation: true industrial experience, welding ability, electrical aptitude, and the willingness to put in the effort.

Compensation

$30 to $35 per hour to start, depending on experience. Candidates with strong electrical depth and fabrication credentials can reach $40 to $45 per hour. The owner is willing to pay for the right person.
