Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, repairs, inspections, and general upkeep of buildings, equipment, and facilities. The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, safety-conscious, and able to troubleshoot a variety of maintenance issues.Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout the building and facility.
- Inspect and maintain plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, doors, locks, walls, ceilings, and other building systems.
- Troubleshoot maintenance problems and determine appropriate repairs.
- Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and mechanical repairs.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
- Maintain common areas, workspaces, restrooms, and exterior areas as needed.
- Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.
- Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are required.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and supplies.
- Monitor inventory of maintenance materials and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
- Follow all company safety policies, building codes, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in building maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general building repairs.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently.
- Good mechanical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read basic manuals, instructions, and maintenance documents.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Relevant maintenance or trade certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in confined or elevated areas.
- Ability to lift and carry tools, equipment, and materials.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Work EnvironmentThe Building Maintenance Technician may work in offices, apartment buildings, commercial properties, schools, warehouses, or other facilities. The position may involve exposure to noise, dust, machinery, chemicals, varying temperatures, and other routine maintenance hazards. All work must be performed in accordance with established safety procedures.
