Job Description
Join our dynamic team as a Medical Assistant in an urgent care facility, where your role will be pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient care. This position offers a temporary coverage opportunity ranging between 3 to 6 months, allowing you to showcase your skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform back office duties in an urgent care facility, including checking in and checking out patients.
- Take vital signs and log information into the EMR/EHR system, specifically using NexGen.
- Verify insurance details for patients and assist with front desk coverage during lunch breaks.
- Schedule appointments and ensure efficient patient care processes.
- Be open to working a flexible schedule, including 12-hour shifts across three days per week, with weekend shifts as needed.
Essential Skills
- Experience with appointment scheduling and electronic health records.
- Proficiency in patient care and back office operations.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Familiarity with NexGen EMR system.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Drawing and phlebotomy experience is beneficial but not required.
- Bilingual in Spanish is highly desirable.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification is a plus.
Work Environment
This role is based in an urgent care facility within the Lakeside Community Healthcare network, located in West Covina. You will work in a supportive, physician-led network committed to quality healthcare. The schedule includes 12-hour shifts from 10:30 am to 11:00 pm, three days per week, with weekend shifts. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Covina, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
