Position Overview
Develop and oversee the execution of mountain bike trail and BMX track maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the regular maintenance of mountain bike trails and BMX tracks
- Use all safety equipment mandated in work area
- Assist in the daily opening and closing of wheels program areas
- Drive trails on UTVs and bikes to ensure safe rideability
- Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and request more as needed in a timely manner
- Assist in other wheels programs as needed
- Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
- Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
- Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
- Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook
Qualifications
- Minimum age: 18+
- Required: 1+ yr. experience maintaining trails, tracks, or features
- Able to obtain the Summit Driving Permit
- Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
- Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication
Physical & Practical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and bike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
- Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
