Position Overview

Develop and oversee the execution of mountain bike trail and BMX track maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the regular maintenance of mountain bike trails and BMX tracks
  • Use all safety equipment mandated in work area
  • Assist in the daily opening and closing of wheels program areas
  • Drive trails on UTVs and bikes to ensure safe rideability
  • Keep an accurate inventory of supplies and request more as needed in a timely manner
  • Assist in other wheels programs as needed
  • Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
  • Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Required: 1+ yr. experience maintaining trails, tracks, or features
  • Able to obtain the Summit Driving Permit
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

Physical & Practical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and bike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelines
  • Housing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55
