Job Description

We are a North American systems integrator providing full-scope technology solutions across security, data networking, structured cabling, and audiovisual systems. With a coast-to-coast presence and a strong reputation for technical execution, we support clients in commercial, healthcare, industrial, education, and government sectors. Our mission is to deliver scalable, high-performing building technology systems through teamwork, safety, and long-term client partnerships.

Position Overview

We're seeking experienced Security Technicians to support the installation and service of integrated security systems primarily focused on video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection. Technicians with at least 2 years of experience will be considered for standard roles, while those with 5+ years of field experience and advanced troubleshooting abilities may be placed into more senior-level responsibilities.

This position requires hands-on installation, system testing, field documentation, and occasional mentoring of junior team members. Candidates must have a strong background in camera systems and video surveillance, as this will be a critical part of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot IP-based camera systems, access control devices, and intrusion alarms in commercial environments.
  • Accurately interpret and work from blueprints, riser diagrams, schematics, and scope documents.
  • Ensure camera placement, field of view, cable routing, and system configuration align with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure high-quality installation, service, and close-out.
  • Maintain project documentation, daily logs, material tracking, and redlines.
  • Support system commissioning and client handoff, including device labeling and programming support.
  • Provide on-site mentorship to less experienced technicians when required.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and site-specific protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience installing and servicing low-voltage systems, with emphasis on IP video and access control.
  • At least 5 years of field experience required for senior-level responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in pulling and terminating low-voltage cabling (Cat5e/6, coax), mounting and aligning cameras, and configuring NVRs/VMS.
  • Familiarity with system manufacturers such as Avigilon, Genetec, ExacqVision, Axis, Hanwha, Lenel, or similar.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and scope documentation.
  • Strong knowledge of electronic theory, AC/DC fundamentals, and troubleshooting practices.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and drug screenings.
  • Comfortable with travel, jobsite conditions, and working independently or as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Manufacturer certifications (e.g., Genetec, Avigilon, Lenel, Hanwha)
  • OSHA 10 or higher certification
  • Experience with IP networking or structured cabling
  • Any technical degree or trade certification related to electronics or security systems

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive pay $28/hr - $43/hr, based on experience level and certifications
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance, AD&D, and disability coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off, sick leave, and paid holidays
  • Company vehicle and gas card (for qualified roles)
