Senior Distribution Center Manager

$90,000 – $95,000 per year | Full-time, Exempt
About the Role
Epic is looking for a Senior Distribution Center Manager for a large food distribution company. You’ll run the day-to-day operations of a busy distribution center and report to the General Manager. You’ll be responsible for hitting the site’s financial and operational goals, and you’ll lead a team of managers and supervisors.
What You’ll Do
- Lead 4–12 managers who run each department, and through them their supervisors and hourly teams
- Plan warehouse layout and storage based on how fast product moves, item size and weight
- Build and run the production plan for the whole warehouse
- Manage the warehouse’s financial reporting
- Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts and special inventories, and fix discrepancies
- Find slow-moving, excess or unusable stock and recommend what to do with it
- Set work procedures and schedules, and keep work flowing on time
- Standardize procedures to make the team more efficient
- Train, coach, evaluate and develop your team, and resolve employee concerns fairly
- Make sure everyone follows company policy, safety rules and the law
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree, or 3–5 years of related distribution center or warehouse leadership experience (or an equivalent mix)
- Strong knowledge of DC operations: receiving, storage, inventory control and shipping
- Experience leading managers and large, diverse teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and comfort working with every level of management
- Strong organization and the ability to meet tight deadlines
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus
Work Environment
- A distribution center environment where temperatures vary
- Long periods at a computer, climbing stairs and occasionally lifting up to 10 lbs
