Position Overview

We are seeking a Fire Alarm & Low Voltage Apprentice Technician I to assist with the installation, inspection, service, and repair of fire alarm systems, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage life safety systems. This is an entry-level or early-career role with opportunities for training, certifications, and advancement.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the installation, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systemsand low-voltage systems (access control, CCTV, security, communication systems, etc.).
Assist with performing routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on fire alarm and life safety equipment.
Support senior technicians with system layouts, device mounting, cable routing, and equipment setup.
Complete service tickets, inspection reports, and documentation accurately.
Ensure all work complies with NFPA codes, manufacturer instructions, and company standards.
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in clean working condition.
Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and team members.
Follow all safety protocols and company policies.

Qualifications

Required:

Basic knowledge of electrical or low-voltage systems OR willingness to learn.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work on lifts or elevated surfaces.
Good communication, time management, and teamwork abilities.

Preferred (but not required):

Experience with fire alarm, security, or low-voltage installations.
Familiarity with NFPA 72, NEC, or relevant industry standards.
Any fire alarm or low-voltage certifications (NICET, manufacturer training, etc.).
Any fire alarm or low-voltage State Licenses.
