Maintenance Assistant
Key Details
- Location: Bernville, PA 19506
- Duration: 6-month contract-to-hire
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Eastern Time, with additional hours as required
- Hours: Approximately 50–60 hours per week, including overtime
- Work Arrangement: Onsite
- Compensation: $18.00–$20.00 per hour
- Employment Type: W2 (not open to C2C, 1099, or visa sponsorship)

Our client is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Maintenance Assistant to support routine facility upkeep, equipment repairs, and maintenance projects within a manufacturing environment. This entry-level opportunity is designed for someone with basic technical and mechanical skills who is eager to learn from experienced maintenance technicians and build a career in facility and equipment maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Assist maintenance technicians with routine mechanical, electrical, and plumbing repairs.
- Support preventive maintenance, facility upkeep, and equipment-related projects.
- Safely operate basic hand tools and power tools.
- Measure and mark materials accurately using a tape measure.
- Complete daily timesheets and update work orders accurately.
- Use basic computer applications to log time, review email, and access maintenance requests.
- Keep work areas, tools, and the maintenance shop clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Follow all safety procedures, instructions, and facility guidelines.
- Assist with indoor and outdoor maintenance activities as assigned.
- Work additional hours and overtime based on operational needs.
Qualifications
- Fundamental understanding of basic mechanical, electrical, and plumbing concepts.
- Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Basic computer skills, including email, data entry, and digital timesheets.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and carry tools or materials as needed.
- Ability to work approximately 50–60 hours per week, including overtime.
- Comfort working in indoor and outdoor environments alongside technical staff.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous trade school or vocational training.
- Prior general labor, facilities, manufacturing, or maintenance-support experience.
