Location: Troy, MI
Employment Type: Full-Time | Onsite
About the Role
KIRCO is seeking an energetic, polished, and service-oriented Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of Columbia Center, a premier commercial office property in Troy, Michigan.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing position that requires someone who enjoys being onsite, building relationships, solving problems, and creating an exceptional experience for tenants and visitors. The ideal candidate is proactive, professional, organized, and eager to continue developing their career in commercial property management.
Candidates with experience in commercial or residential property management, hospitality, hotel operations, or another high-touch customer service environment are encouraged to apply.
What You'll Do
- Support the day-to-day operations and overall appearance of the property.
- Build strong relationships with tenants and serve as a responsive point of contact for questions, requests, and concerns.
- Conduct regular property inspections and proactively identify maintenance, appearance, and operational needs.
- Coordinate with building engineers, vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure issues are addressed promptly.
- Assist with vendor management, proposals, service contracts, invoices, and ongoing performance.
- Support property budgeting, expense tracking, accounts payable, reporting, and other financial processes.
- Assist with tenant move-ins, move-outs, lease-related administration, and building communications.
- Help coordinate onsite meetings, tenant events, and other activities that enhance the tenant experience.
- Maintain accurate property records, documentation, and vendor information.
- Partner closely with the Property Manager and other KIRCO team members to maintain a professional, welcoming, and well-operated property.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in property management, hospitality, hotel operations, facilities, or a related customer-facing environment preferred.
- Commercial property management experience is a plus but not required for the right candidate.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with tenants, vendors, and team members.
- Professional and polished communication and presentation.
- Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience coordinating vendors, maintenance, or building operations preferred.
- Exposure to property budgets, invoices, accounts payable, or financial reporting is a plus.
- Comfortable learning property management systems and technology.
- Ability and willingness to work onsite daily at Columbia Center in Troy.
Who Will Be Successful Here
We're looking for someone who doesn't want to simply sit behind a desk. You'll be successful in this role if you enjoy walking the property, interacting with tenants, anticipating needs, solving problems, and taking pride in creating an exceptional building experience.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Property Manager looking to strengthen their commercial experience or for a strong residential property management or hospitality professional ready to transition into commercial real estate.
