The Level II Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for Laguna Development Corporation (LDC) patrons, employees, facilities, grounds, and assets while serving as a lead security presence in the absence of a Security Supervisor. This role assists with supervising security operations, acts as the Officer in Charge (OIC) when necessary, and responds to a wide range of incidents including altercations, theft, vandalism, fire, illegal entry, and other unlawful activities. Duties include conducting patrols, monitoring buildings and grounds, preparing incident reports, communicating effectively via telephone and radio, providing crowd and traffic control, supporting emergency response efforts, evacuation and staging procedures, fire watch assignments, and incident command situations. The officer also escorts patrons to vehicles, coordinates security escorts for cash transfers, assists with money counting procedures, protects restricted areas and casino assets, administers reasonable suspicion and post-incident urine analysis testing, and may be required to testify in court. Additionally, the position enforces Security Department policies and complies with Pueblo of Laguna Gaming Control Board/Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority, federal, and New Mexico regulations.
The position requires strong customer service and leadership skills, including building positive relationships with guests, providing information about amenities and events, maintaining professionalism with patrons, coworkers, vendors, and the public, and fostering a collaborative team environment. Candidates must uphold LDC Core Values, serve as a role model, maintain punctual attendance, and perform effectively under pressure, including working weekends, holidays, and nontraditional hours. A High School Diploma or GED is required, along with one to three years of relevant experience, preferably in security. Required certifications include First Aid, CPR, AED, Defensive Driving, Defensive Tactics, and a New Mexico Alcohol Servers Permit. The role requires proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, radios, Key watcher systems, Stream Manager surveillance systems, and the ability to operate vehicles. Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, driving, hearing, speaking, and repetitive hand use, along with lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and moving up to 50+ pounds. Mental demands include problem-solving, planning, organizing, decision-making, interpreting data, and reading and writing on a regular basis.
