Job Description

Start a Career in Professional Property Management

\n

Shepherd Realty Group Property Management — Riverside, California

\n

Part time | $20–$22 per hour | Career-Track Position

\n

Are you a California real estate licensee looking for something more than chasing commissions?

\n

Shepherd Realty Group Property Management is looking for a licensed Property Management Trainee who wants to learn the business of professional residential property management and develop into a long-term career position.

\n

Property management experience is NOT required.

\n

We are looking for the right person and will teach the right candidate our systems, procedures and approach to professional property management.

\n

This is not simply an administrative assistant position. You will work directly with experienced property management professionals and learn how to manage single-family homes and residential investment properties from the ground up.

\n

You will learn and assist with tenant relations, maintenance coordination, property inspections, owner communications, leasing, documentation, property onboarding and the day-to-day systems required to professionally manage residential investment property.

\n

WHAT YOU'LL DO

\n

Your responsibilities will initially include coordinating maintenance requests and vendors, communicating with tenants, scheduling and tracking property inspections, assisting with owner communications, maintaining property records, monitoring lease and property-management deadlines, assisting with new owner and property onboarding, and helping ensure that open issues are followed through to completion.

\n

As your knowledge and abilities develop, you will be given increasing responsibility for property-management activities under the supervision of an experienced Property Manager and Broker.

\n

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

\n

We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, comfortable talking with people and willing to learn.

\n

You don't need to know everything about property management when you arrive. You do need to be someone who follows through, pays attention to details, communicates professionally, learns from mistakes and takes responsibility for getting things done.

\n

You should be comfortable using computers and technology and willing to learn property-management software, electronic documentation systems and AI-assisted business tools.

\n

Customer service, real estate, administrative, leasing or property-management experience is helpful, but not required.

\n

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

\n

Applicants must have:

\n

    \n
  • A current and valid California Department of Real Estate salesperson or broker license
  • \n

  • A valid California driver's license
  • \n

  • A reliable personal vehicle available for business use
  • \n

  • Current automobile insurance
  • \n

  • Ability to travel locally to properties as required
  • \n

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • \n

  • Basic computer and technology skills
  • \n

\n

COMPENSATION & CAREER OPPORTUNITY

\n

Starting compensation: $20–$22 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

\n

This is a full-time position with a 90-day training and performance-development period.

\n

This position is designed as a career path:

\n

Property Management Trainee → Property Management Coordinator → Assistant Property Manager → Property Manager

\n

Advancement and compensation increases are based on demonstrated competency, reliability, judgment, productivity and the ability to independently handle increasing levels of responsibility.

\n

We are looking for someone who wants to learn a profession, not simply find their next job.
