Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Security Guard to oversee the daily flow of vehicles entering and exiting the facility. This role is responsible for checking in company drivers and third-party carriers, maintaining accurate entry and exit logs, and helping ensure the safety and security of the yard. The Security Guard will primarily work from the security booth while conducting periodic patrols of the exterior premises.

Schedules:

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday: 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Wednesday & Thursday: Off
Friday & Saturday: 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM

Sunday: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
Monday & Tuesday: Off
Wednesday & Thursday: 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Friday: Off
Saturday: 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Check in and check out company drivers and third-party drivers.
  • Verify driver information and maintain accurate records of all vehicles entering and exiting the yard.
  • Monitor gate activity to ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles access the facility.
  • Maintain detailed logs of inbound and outbound traffic.
  • Communicate professionally with drivers, visitors, and facility personnel.
  • Perform routine patrols of the exterior yard to observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity.
  • Monitor the security booth and surrounding area to help maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Report security concerns, incidents, or safety hazards to management promptly.
  • Follow company security procedures and policies at all times.
  • Assist with other security-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous security guard experience required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate logs and documentation.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to remain alert and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and recordkeeping skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Must be dependable, punctual, and professional.
