About the Role

Under direct supervision, the Site Assistant will perform various physical tasks to support construction operations and ensure project timelines are met. This role involves manual labor, including lifting, carrying, and working with tools and machinery. The ideal candidate will have some experience in construction, a strong work ethic, the ability to follow instructions, and a commitment to safety. This role will work from jobsites primarily in the Santa Barbara and Montecito areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites
  • Lift heavy loads to 80 lbs. and navigate construction job site terrain
  • Dig pits, trenches, and foundations in preparation for job site construction
  • Back-fill trenches and pits when necessary
  • Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement
  • mixers, small mechanical hoists, hammer, Sawzall, Skilsaw, and a variety of other equipment
  • Perform setup and cleanup tasks at the job site
  • Clean and prepare sites, and clean up rubble, debris, and other waste materials
  • Project errands including pick-up and drop off tools and materials
  • Provide labor support as needed for specialty crew


Qualification Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in construction or manual labor preferred.
  • Ability to operate basic hand and power tools.
  • Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and practices.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver's license
  • Able to pass a criminal background check

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Travel Time Required

15% (this is an estimated amount)

Typical Working Conditions

Work performed in a combination of an office and rare field environment.
