Job Position Description:

Metro is in search of a Texas State Licensed Fire Alarm Technician (FAL) to join our team! In this position, you will utilize your skills to install, troubleshoot, repair and service Fire Alarm Systems in the multifamily environment. An ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience in this industry already.

Physical Setting and Schedule:

Metro is located in Southlake, TX. Our schedule is Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM with a one-hour lunch.

Responsibilities:

Below are some job responsibilities the candidate will be in charge of.

- Perform service calls by troubleshooting known issues while also inspecting for additional repairs needed for various Fire Alarm System designs (Fire Lite, Silent Knight, Honeywell, Kidde, Potter, etc.)

- Evaluate Fire Alarm Systems for monitoring take overs

- Repair Fire Alarm Systems adhering to current fire codes

- Must be willing to work overtime when necessary and perform on call responsibilities when their rotation come up

- Maintain a high level of customer service on all service calls

- Maintain company vehicle in accordance with company policies

- Manage time effectively in order to get through full days workload and provide feedback to manager of department regarding next day’s workload availability

Qualifications:

Below are some job qualifications we would like to see in potential candidates.

- Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

- Must pass background and drug test

- Fire Alarm License (FAL) is required

- Working knowledge of electronic and digital test equipment such as multi-meters and digital testers

- Computer and software literate for programming addressable fire alarm system is a plus

- Capable of working from extension ladders and step ladders when needed

- Effective in both verbal and written communication

- Able to lift 50 lbs.

- Familiarity with hand and power tools

- Able to work in a collaborative team environment

- Strong attention to detail
