Position: Facilities Director
Hours: 40 hours/week
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
The Facilities Director oversees the general upkeep, maintenance, safety compliance, and day-to-day operations required to keep the grounds and facility available for safe use during weekend services, staff and community use on a daily basis. This position also functions as a liaison to our local community, focusing on engagement with a high emphasis on partnership.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid drivers license for the State of Oregon
- 5+ years prior experience managing a team of staff and/or volunteers
- 5+ years prior experience in budget oversight, purchasing and record keeping
- Previous work experience in construction, maintenance, and/or landscaping
- Ability to operate hand tools and power equipment used in facilities maintenance
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds in addition toascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs and work in proximity to loud equipment
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of work safety regulations in compliance with OSHA
- Previous experience working in a formal ministry environment
- Previous experience working for a non-profit
RESPONSIBILITIES & ASSOCIATED TASKS:
Facilities Operations - 50%
- Oversee all building operations, maintenance, and major repairs in compliance with city, state and local building codes/requirements.
- Partner with necessary organizations to ensure all city permits and inspections are in compliance with legal requirements
- Review and approve all facility use bookings/scheduling for internal staff and community/special event use
- Select and partner with external subcontractors for various building maintenance, cleaning and repair work
- Maintain all facilities related tools, equipment, machinery, vehicles, and work/storage areas.
- Organize and oversee Safety Committee and all safety strategies
- Serve as the on-call point of contact for after-hours security/fire alarm related needs
Department Oversight and Management - 50%
- Provide direction and oversight for the staff custodial and groundskeeping team regarding daily duties and planning
- Conduct weekly facilities team meetings to discuss work needs identified during weekly facility walk throughs
- Oversee and schedule staff coverage as needed for special events
- Recruit and build an engaged team of volunteers to support the facilities team
- Participate in Staff Connect, Staff Brunch, other staff functions as requested
- Answer all e-mail and phone calls in a timely manner
- Maintain up-to-date calendar and general communication with staff
SUPERVISORY:
Immediate Supervisor: Senior Pastor
Supervisory responsibilities for: Custodial Staff, Groundskeeper, Volunteers
