Job Title: 3rd Shift Maintenance Technician

Pay/Shift/Additional Information:

  • The plant operates as a high-volume Tier-1/Tier-2 supplier, combining a close-knit, "mom and pop" feel with the scale and structure of a large organization. The environment is unionized (IUECWA)
  • Pay: $34.32
  • Shift: 3rd shift from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM
    • Training Shift: 2nd

Job Description

This role focuses on maintaining and repairing high-volume automotive manufacturing equipment on 3rd shift in a unionized production environment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and support safe, reliable operation of roll mills, stamping presses, welders, and related machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, including 200–300 foot roll mills, stamping presses, welders, rollers, and cut-off machines.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and hydraulic presses to minimize downtime and maintain safe operation.
  • Work with gearboxes, including inspection, repair, and replacement as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and run diagnostics on electrical systems up to 480V 3-phase, identifying and resolving faults efficiently.
  • Service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including valves, cylinders, lines, and related components.
  • Swap out and replace motors, ensuring proper alignment, wiring, and startup verification.
  • Apply multi-craft maintenance skills to address mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control-related issues on production equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics to guide troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Support stamping operations, including tool and die related maintenance as needed to keep production running smoothly.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks in an organized and accurate manner.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance team members to prioritize work, support continuous operation, and improve equipment reliability.
  • Follow established safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, and plant standards while performing all maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with maintenance supervision and maintenance management initiatives as needed, including supporting structured PM programs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Angola, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
