Job Description
One of my best clients is searching for a Maintenance Superintendent for their facility located in Northern New Jersey. They are a regional industry linens company that is growing and expanding in the marketplace. This role is a steppingstone to get to the Maintenance Manager level. This Maintenance Superintendent will lead our first‑shift maintenance operations in a high‑volume industrial linens facility. This role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting daily production goals through effective leadership and technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct first‑shift maintenance technicians and support staff.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance for industrial laundry equipment, boilers, conveyors, and facility systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Coordinate with production leadership to prioritize work orders and support operational needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, records, and parts inventory.
- Support equipment upgrades, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Train, coach, and develop maintenance personnel.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or commercial laundry environment
- At least 2 years of supervisory or leadership experience
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, industrial electrical, PLCs, and facility utilities
- Ability to read schematics and perform root‑cause analysis.
- Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
