Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Waterford Gardens Assisted & Senior Living is seeking a dependable, highly organized, and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain both the interior and exterior of 3 buildings located on the same campus. The successful candidate will be someone who notices issues on the fly, follows through on details, communicates professionally, and is willing to plan for whatever is needed to help ensure the community operates safely, efficiently, and compassionately.

Primary Responsibilities

Day-to-day tasks include performing routine inspections, diagnosing issues, and completing repairs on facility systems, resident rooms, and common areas. The role involves conducting preventive maintenance on equipment and building systems, responding promptly to maintenance requests, and addressing safety concerns in a timely manner. This role may also require occasional after-hours or weekend work to handle urgent maintenance needs. Seasonal events like Halloween and Christmas often involve setting up thousands of lights on trees and bushes as well as decorations.

Required Qualifications

- Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance to ensure reliable operation of facility systems and tools. This includes basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
- Experience with troubleshooting issues in residential or commercial settings to quickly identify and resolve problems without official work orders. If you see faded paint, broken doorknobs, torn carpet, or other issues, try to make a plan on how to fix these problems.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, work safely with tools and equipment, and follow safety and regulatory guidelines. A fairly common occurrence is moving furniture to and from multiple rooms to offsite storage locations.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple work orders and priorities.
- Effective communication skills and a positive resident-focused attitude, with the ability to interact respectfully with older adults and staff.
- A reliable personal vehicle (preferably a truck) and cell phone so we may contact you.
