Position Summary
This position requires performing maintenance on both manufacturing equipment and building systems to support production operations and to maintain the facility. Provides support on various production related projects and activities. This role will also develop preventive maintenance schedules for manufacturing equipment. Provides guidance and leadership to other level maintenance technicians.
PLEASE NOTE: This position requires working onsite in Chicago through 12/31/25, after which the role will transition permanently to Northbrook, IL. Are you willing to work in Chicago until 12/31/25 and then commute to Northbrook, IL

Duties
- Provides expertise for manufacturing equipment repair and maintenance.
- Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains the various production machines including punch presses, buffing, and grinding machines, laser marking equipment, automated assembly equipment, packaging equipment, CNC lathes/mills, and related equipment.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility support systems including air compressors, chillers, heating and ventilating units, lighting systems, office equipment, security systems, and related building equipment.
- Performs preventive maintenance on production and building equipment as required by the Preventive Maintenance Program.
- Identifies, develops, and implements upgrades and improvements in equipment and systems to improve their reliability and maintainability.
- Works with outside vendors/contractors for maintenance, repair, replacement and testing of equipment and systems, in collaboration with Maintenance Manager.
- Maintains and updates energy control plans.
- Works and coordinates effectively with all employees (internal customers), including Engineering, Purchasing, and Production.
Education Degree
High School Diploma or GED
Vocational/Technical
Required Experience
- Two years of vocational education in automation/manufacturing technology
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment maintaining automation equipment
- Working knowledge of electrical power circuits; electrical and electronic machine control circuits
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems for equipment control and operation
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Must have advances electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills and a thorough knowledge of and use of power equipment with a good electrical and mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment and electronic control systems
- Able to work with all fixed and portable equipment normally used in maintenance operations, including drill press
