The Maintenance Technical Lead responsibilities include but not limited to:
Plan, coordinate, prioritize, assign, supervise, implement and review maintenance and repair activities to automotive testing equipment, facility equipment and buildings in support of ongoing operations.
Oversee and direct the activities of a small multi
trade maintenance crew to complete required tasks in a safe and timely manner.
Comply with the collective bargaining agreement, Canadian Electrical Code, TSSA, corporate policies and other applicable regulations in the organization and execution of maintenance activities.
Develop maintenance strategies, programs and make improvements to existing policies.
Troubleshoot automated testing system issues and determine corrective actions
Manage all aspects of environmental health and safety conformance for the skilled trades
Oversee a preventative maintenance program for automotive testing equipment and facilities
Prioritize tasks based on urgency and workforce availability
Maintain accurate hourly timekeeping records, vacation and time off requests
Point of contact for janitorial services contract.
Perform environmental inspections and coordinate waste pickups.
Procure parts, material and rentals required to complete maintenance tasks
Track data for performance measurable such as Preventative Maintenance task completion, overtime, etc.
Maintain good supplier/customer relations with internal customers and outside suppliers
Monitor and maintain inventory levels of materials and equipment
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 3 years of industrial automation experience with project management experience
Ability to work ANY shift and overtime as required
Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface with employees at all levels of the Plant, from hourly represented employees to Senior Leadership
Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‐solving experience
Goal‐oriented self‐starter with the ability to lead teams
Ability to coach, mentor, and develop skilled trade employees
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering field
Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
Experience leading maintenance teams in a union environment
Green Belt/Red X/Six Sigma training
Experience with controls, robotics, drives, system‐level communication systems, sealing systems, glass cell systems, conveyance systems, welding (all types), paint process and associated systems, and vision systems and sensors
