The Role
As a Custodian, you'll be responsible for cleaning and maintaining our facility, inside and out.
What you'll do:
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, lunchrooms and office areas.
- Clean windows and fixtures; strip, wax or buff floors.
- Remove snow and salt parking lots and sidewalks.
- Perform yard work such as planting and weeding.
- Pick up, sort and weigh scrap.
- May operate the compactor / baler as assigned.
- Service air filters as needed.
- Use equipment such as snow blowers, buffers, scrubbers or sky jack.
- Help with various projects and repairs around the building.

- Continue to grow job-specific knowledge and use tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.
- Comply with safety regulations, use safety equipment, and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

What You Bring
- English skills that allow for reading and comprehending labels and instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with power and hand tools is a plus.
- Knowledge of tools and painting is a plus, but not required.

Physical Requirements
The incumbent will:
- Always walk / stand the entire shift.
- Sometimes bend at waist, twist / turn, kneel / crouch, push, pull and climb (using ladders).
- Occasionally lift below waist up to 75 lbs.
- Regularly lift above waist between 10 lbs. and 75 lbs.
- Seldom lift above shoulders up to 75 lbs.
- Frequently perform hand / wrist / finger movement and squeezing.
- Occasionally use keyboard and foot pedal controls on forklift.
- Be able to work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Have regular exposure to odors, dust and seasonal weather conditions.
