We are seeking an experienced New Home Sales Consultant to join our growing team and guide prospective homeowners through the new construction sales process while delivering an exceptional customer experience and achieving community sales goals.
The New Home Sales Consultant we are looking for will:
- Bring proven new home sales experience with a residential homebuilder and an understanding of the unique sales cycle associated with new construction.
- Thrive on connecting with prospective buyers, understanding their needs, and helping them find the right home and community.
- Take ownership of leads, follow-up, buyer relationships, sales goals, and the overall customer experience from initial inquiry through contract.
- Work collaboratively with Sales leadership, Marketing, Production, and other internal teams to create a seamless experience for our homeowners.
Key Competencies & Responsibilities:
Lead Management & Sales Conversion (Focus areas: Driven & Aware)
- Own and actively manage the sales pipeline, responding promptly to inquiries and consistently following up with prospective buyers throughout the sales cycle.
- Convert qualified prospects into buyers by identifying customer needs, overcoming objections, communicating value, and confidently guiding prospects toward a purchasing decision.
- Achieve established sales goals by maintaining disciplined prospecting, follow-up, appointment, and conversion activities.
- Maintain accurate and thorough sales records within company systems, ensuring customer communications, appointments, follow-up activities, and sales progress are consistently documented.
Customer Experience & Relationship Management (Focus areas: Helpful & Humble)
- Serve as a trusted guide for prospective homeowners, providing clear, timely, and professional communication throughout the new home sales process.
- Build strong customer relationships by listening carefully, understanding buyer priorities, and helping customers navigate the decisions associated with purchasing a new construction home.
- Set clear expectations throughout the sales process, ensuring buyers understand timelines, next steps, responsibilities, and the transition from sales into construction.
- Protect and strengthen the Yingst Building Group reputation by delivering a professional, responsive, and consistent customer experience.
Product & Community Expertise (Focus area: Aware)
- Develop expert-level knowledge of assigned communities, including floor plans, homesites, available inventory, options, pricing, specifications, incentives, and community features.
- Conduct compelling model home and community presentations that connect buyer needs with the benefits and value of Yingst Building Group homes.
- Maintain current knowledge of the local new construction market, including competing communities, products, pricing, and buyer trends.
- Maintain model homes and sales environments in accordance with company presentation and brand standards.
Sales Process & Cross-Functional Collaboration (Focus areas: Helpful & Driven)
- Guide buyers through the new construction sales and contract process, ensuring required documentation is accurate, complete, and submitted according to company standards.
- Partner effectively with internal teams, including Marketing, Production, Purchasing, and leadership, to support a smooth transition from sale through construction.
- Communicate buyer information and commitments accurately to internal stakeholders to minimize misunderstandings and support a strong homeowner experience.
- Represent Yingst Building Group professionally at model homes, community events, realtor events, and other sales and marketing activities.

- Experienced new home sales professional with direct experience selling new construction homes for a residential homebuilder.
- Results-driven salesperson who understands lead management, follow-up discipline, conversion, and accountability to sales goals.
- Relationship builder who creates trust with prospective homeowners while remaining focused on moving the sales process forward.
- Exceptional communicator who can confidently present homes, communities, pricing, options, and the overall value proposition to prospective buyers.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation and record-keeping habits.
- Self-directed and accountable, with the ability to manage time, priorities, prospects, and follow-up without constant oversight.

Qualifications:
- New Home Sales Experience: Prior direct experience selling new construction homes for a residential homebuilder is required.
- Sales Track Record: Demonstrated success managing prospective buyers, converting leads, and achieving sales goals in a new home sales environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the new construction sales cycle, including homesites, floor plans, options, contracts, construction timelines, and the buyer journey.
- Communication: Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail with demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and thorough customer and sales documentation.
- Technology: Comfortable utilizing CRM and sales management systems, along with Microsoft Office applications and other technology used throughout the sales process.
- Schedule: Ability to work weekends, posted model home hours, and other times required to support prospective buyers and community sales activities.
- Travel: Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and the ability to travel to Yingst Building Group communities, model homes, and company events as needed.
