The Custodian is responsible for cleanliness and sanitation of assigned areas. S/he is responsible for the care and maintenance of equipment, furniture and fixtures. S/he performs routine cleaning tasks of repetitive nature following established schedules and using prescribed methods. The Custodian works semi-independently under limited supervision.
Qualifications:
Required Education:
- High school diploma or GED or the combination of education, knowledge, skills, mental development, and relevant experience that enables performance of all aspects of the position.
Desirable Education:
- High school diploma or GED
Required Experience:
- No experience required.
Desirable Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of janitorial or cleaning experience.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance of floors by mopping, buffing, scrubbing, stripping, and refinishing.
2. Be aware of composition of various floors, and other surfaces.
3. Spot clean walls, glass doors, windows, metal trims, and baseboards.
4. Clean stairwells, offices, conference rooms, patients’ room, waiting areas, and staff work areas.
5. Hang drapes, cubicle curtains, and shower curtains.
6. Assist in moving heavy furniture and equipment.
7. Empty trash cans, clean and dispose of refuse.
8. Vacuum, spot clean, and shampoo furniture or carpeting.
