City of Thibodaux is accepting online applications for the full-time classified position of Maintenance Worker.A maintenance worker specializing as an electrician helper supports licensed electricians and performs a variety of tasks related to electrical systems, facility upkeep, and equipment maintenance. This role blends hands-on technical work with safety awareness and problem-solving.Online application will be accepted by the Civil Service Office, 112 St. Mary, Thibodaux, LA, no later than 12 oclock noon, Wednesday, November 19, 2025. Applications received after this time will not be considered.
Work involves helping licensed electrician install, maintain, and repair electrical systems; performing basic electrical and facility maintenance under supervision; maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in safe and organized manner. Additional Duties include supporting other, such as minor carpentry, painting, and event setup.
This position is in Grade 611 of the pay plan. The minimum pay is $13.64 per hour.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Have a valid driver' license,
- Ability to obtain required safety and/or electrical certifications
Education:
Level of knowledge is high school diploma or equivalency.
Experience:
Up to one (1) year of experience in electrical, construction, or general maintenance work.
Job Mission:

The written test for the maintenance worker will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Recreation Building at Peltier Park located at 151 Peltier Park Drive, Thibodaux, LA 70301.
