The Leidos Security and Engineering Programs (SEP) is seeking a Network Administrator with a active SECRET clearance for the Center for Information Systems Security (CISS) program. This is a unique role which offers opportunity for growth in different areas (networking, system administration, etc) for motivated individuals. This position requires the ability to work flexible hours in Washington DC.
Work Schedule is as follows:
Monday thru Friday 2PM-10:30PM
Primary Responsibilities
1) Performs the integration of new COTS/GOTS systems (network equipment, servers, workstations, etc) into the production environment, responsible for ensuring mission readiness.
2) Manages change controls for documentation within a configuration management database (CMDB) and performs corrective action on any discrepancies or findings. 3) Develops technical solutions and resolves complex user, computer, server, network, appliance, and application issues. Independently and consistently records, manages, and updates these solutions in a knowledge database and ticketing system. 4) Reviews data from a DoD Network Monitoring System. Reviews historical data and proactively audits systems to ensure they meet program requirements. Assesses risks and remediates incidents. 5) Once trained on the program specific equipment, the candidate will be relied on as an expert in their AOR, and will be expected to analyze issues, make remediation recommendations to management, and subsequently carry out those remediation processes.
Basic Qualifications
Additional 4 years’ relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. • Final Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret. • Experience with one or more of the following Windows Server administration tools: AD CS, AD DNS, DHCP, etc. • Cisco, Junos, and Palo Alto configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Network diagram creation experience using Visio or other visualization tools. • Working knowledge of general networking concepts, such as multicast, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, NAT, etc. • Tier 3 network support. • The candidate should be a proactive leader and team player with strong communication, management, analytical, and problem-solving skills; proven ability to thrive in environments that constantly embraces new technology.
Preferred Qualifications
• Lifecycle management experience (Cisco, Juniper, and Palo Alto equipment). • Working knowledge of Network Monitoring tools such as OpManager, Solarwinds, PRTG, etc.
• Network analyzation tool experience such as Wireshark. • Experience with virtualization concepts. • Infrastructure equipment troubleshooting such as APC or Eaton UPS’, Fiber and/or Ethernet installation/termination, and electronic testing and metering equipment. • Ticket tracking system experience (i.e. Remedy, ServiceNOW, SharePoint). • Prior experience in a Network Operations Center style environment. • Cisco and/or Juniper Tier 3 troubleshooting experience.

Tier III O&amp;M of Juniper and Cisco routers to include extensive troubleshooting at the layer 2 and layer 3 level and implementation of routing changes.

Work with corresponding technical support teams as required to resolve network traffic concerns.

Utilize monitoring tools and log collectors to provide in-dept analysis of traffic anomalies and issues.

Candidate will be on call after hours on a rotational basis.

Not required but experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint firewall equipment and applications is a plus.

Basic Requirements

Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years, master’s and 10 years, bachelor’s and 12 years, associates and 14 years or HS diploma and 16 years.

Must comply with DoD 8140 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
</li>
<li>
Experience with configuring and troubleshooting Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.
</li>

Experience with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VPN’s, VRF’s, MPLS.
</li>
<li>
Understanding of routing, switching, Internet Protocol (IP) subnet, Network Address Translation (NAT) and security technologies.

Demonstrated ability to engineer and modify rulesets to allow connectivity for new customer requirements.
</li>
<li>
Demonstrate ability to read, understand, and develop schematic diagrams, technical manuals, and documentation such that the supported equipment and software can be maintained with minimal training.

Working knowledge of Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
</li>
<li>
Superior verbal and written communication skills.
</li>
<li>
Intermediate-level knowledge of MS Office products Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Experience managing routing and switching, including protocols like BGP.
